Lesnieski House Remodel |
The Lesnieski's of Irmo went to a block party one evening
with neighbors and realized they needed some work done on their
home. When being introduced, a neighbor remarked, "Oh yeah,
you're the ones running from your car to the front door in the
rain." Not having a garage or easy entry in their home from
behind, the family decided to remodel.
And as if the missing garage and back door weren't enough of a problem, there was no covered or screened in porch. Since all true Southerners need an enclosed outdoor area to relax in, the family decided to add that while they were at it. After shopping around for plans and a remodeler, Mrs. Lesnieski found Southern Homes Remodeling Co., Inc. and designer Cliff Cinamon. |
|
| Cliff sat down with the family and found out their problems with the existing home and discussed different options toward a solution. After gathering all of the data, he returned to his shop and drew up some plans that would address all of the problems and create some new benefits. After a couple more meetings with the family and a little more work on the plans, company owner Sid Albert and his remodeling crew began work on the home. | |
The project would require some minor foundation work as some heated
interior space would also be added as well as a slab for the new
garage. Grading was needed to level and widen the existing
driveway and to ease the grade where the porch would be placed.
Matching new windows to the existing windows was impossible, so the
company offered new vinyl windows all around at cost. More storage
was needed for the home so a vaulted ceiling and storage cabinets were
included in the garage plan.
An entry door and steps were added from the garage into the kitchen/dining area of the home so the family wouldn't have to run around in the rain anymore, and easy access to the back yard was made through the garage as well. Little touches like lights built in to the new concrete exterior steps finished off the project nicely. |
|
The final project is stunning. The family now
has a double-car garage with plenty of new storage. There's
easy access into the house and to the back yard. And now, easy
Southern living is theirs with a new screened in porch. The garage
is 506 sq. ft. The porch is 100 sq. ft.
One final touch was the added interior space. The bay window is new along with the heated space inside the home. Only 140 square feet were added, but the family loves their new nook and have decorated it very nicely. |
|
The Lesnieski's are very happy with their new addition and have nothing but nice things to say about the remodeler and designer.
