What's CGR?

Members of the Remodelors Council of Greater Columbia undergo an application process for membership in the Home Builders Association of Greater Columbia and for the Council itself.  Our members, both Builders and Associates, take pride in offering the best quality service and up-to-date industry information.

While looking around this site, you may have noticed the "CGR" notation after some of our members' names.  CGR stands for Certified Graduate Remodelor. This professional designation is offered through our national association, the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB), and is administered by the Home Builders Institute (HBI).  CGR is a nationally recognized designation that identifies top professionals in the remodeling industry.

CGR graduates complete an intensive series of eight six-hour courses, during which they learn about the newest trends and technology in the remodeling industry.  Participants also have the opportunity to collaborate with fellow remodelers on solutions to many everyday problems encountered in the industry.  To keep their certificate current, graduates must complete an additional six hours of courses every year.
